Singh and Taku want to differentiate their wallet company by making it into a platform to disburse micro loans. Parallelly, they have been expanding the base of brick-and-mortar stores that accept payments via MobiKwik. There’s already a deal with Big Bazaar, and almost 10,000 physical retail stores. In January MobiKwik opened up access to its patent-pending Power Wallet feature for retailers, which will help process mobile transactions without tedious authentication.
