Xiaomi achieved what was unimaginable a few years ago: It knocked Samsung off the top as India’s bestselling mobile phone maker. Three of its phones are among the top five best-selling phones of 2017, according to Counterpoint Research. Last year, the company also set up exclusive stores—like Apple stores—in India. Jain, who is also managing director Xiaomi India, says the company makes “over 90% of its phones in India”. The company also sells mobile accessories and has now expanded to the television market.
