The seventh edition of South Asia’s biggest art marque held earlier this year featured 85 galleries and 3,500 works, valued between Rs 2,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore. It drew 80,000 visitors. Brought up in Delhi, Kirpal was drawn to London’s art milieu while studying marketing there. “I wanted to be part of fundamental, not incremental, change in India,” she says. Later this year, the young mother plans to launch the India Arts Council, a platform to bring art patrons together.
