With $0.5 million in billings last year, this is a tiny company. But ITF’s value lies in being a pioneer of the Indian language Internet. Unicode fonts, which can be rendered across platforms digitally, are increasingly critical, and ITF supplies them to Google, Apple, and Starbucks, among others. Rajpurohit, a National Institute of Design alumnus, waited two years for his first client, Star TV, which wanted a new font for its identity re-design in 2011, and decided to go with ITF’s Fedora-Hindi; 28 channels now use ITF fonts.
