Despite being largely bootstrapped, Exotel, a telecom equipment and cloud telephony company, has expanded to Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia since it was founded in 2011. According to the company, it handled 4 million calls a day in 2017, twice the previous year. The growing importance of cloud services has helped the company grow quickly. It counts Uber, Ola, Flipkart, Quikr, Swiggy, Urban Ladder, Oyo, Practo, GoJek, and Lazada among its clients. Ganesan, a techie, is now eyeing the banking and telecom distributor network in the industry.
