Tata Motors on Monday announced the launch of internal combustion engine models of its Coupe SUV Tata Curvv at a starting price of ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The introductory prices are applicable for bookings before October 31. Deliveries for the Curvv are set to start from September 12.
This marks a big milestone for the automaker as it enters the fast-growing mid-SUV segment with ICE options. In a high growth segment populated with boxy-SUV body styles, Tata Motors is betting on the Curvv’s SUV Coupe design.
Tata Motors has launched the Curvv in three engine options – one diesel and two petrol trims. The automaker has debuted the 1.2 litre Hyperion gasoline direct injection with the Curvv which makes 123 bhp and 225 Nm torque. The Curvv also comes with the 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine which makes 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 116 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. All three engines come with both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Tata Curvv with the Revotron petrol engine starts at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the new Hyperion petrol engine starts at ₹13.99 lakh and the Kyrojet diesel trim starts at ₹11.49 lakh.
The Curvv comes with features like gesture controlled powered tailgate, ventilated front seats, powered driver seat, height adjustable co-driver seat, rear seat with reclining option, cooled glove box, LED front fog lamps with cornering, flush door handles, 360 surround view system with blind view monitor (on infotainment and cluster), front parking sensors, electronic parking brake, hill hold control, and ADAS Level 2 driving with 20 features among others. The car has a boot space of 500 litres and six airbags as standard.
The Curvv will be available in six colours - gold, grey, white, red, grey and blue.
“The introduction of the Curvv further enhances our SUV portfolio as a comprehensive Mid-SUV product with multiple powertrains, several first in segment features, a brand new capable architecture - ATLAS and Level 2 ADAS,” says Shailesh Chandra, managing director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility.
This comes weeks after Tata launched Curvv.ev at a starting price of ₹17.49 lakh. The Curvv EV is the second product on Tata Passenger Electric Mobility’s (TPEM) pure EV architecture – acti.ev. With a driving range of 585 km on a single charge for the 55kWh battery pack and 502 km for the 45kWh (ARAI certified, MIDC Part 1), the Curvv.ev will be available at a starting price of ₹17.49 lakh for the Curvv.ev 45 and at ₹19.25 lakh for the Curvv.ev 55. The Curvv EV offers an estimated real-world range of 400-425km with its largest battery pack of 55kWh, says Shailesh Chandra, managing director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility.
