UnfoldU Group, India’s leading online education player, is set to mark its entry into the space of Metaverse education. Metaverse, as the world knows, is the simulated space that blends with the real world to offer quality education. The group is also the first player from India to foray into metaverse education, which is believed to spread rapidly in the next few years due to technological advancement and falling data costs.
UnfoldU Group is developing the world’s first experiential learning platform similar to a learning management system, which will develop and host thousands of courses related to the metaverse, called UnfoldU Metaversity, identical to a large physical university.
The world’s online education is estimated to be more than US $200 billion, poised to grow to US $400 billion by 2026. Post covid, most educational institutes shifted to online space. Still, the consolidation of the market is evident, where the top few players will be known for their contribution to the metaverse space.
UnfoldU Group, which started in the year 2014 under the leadership of Harish Bajaj, initially focused on online education. Still, the management decided to focus on newer technologies to build an edge against significant competitors like Byju, Vedantu, and Unacademy.
UnfoldU Group is building its entire business over the Binance Smart Chain, a blockchain by Binance powered by its UNGC token. The token will have several use cases out of which payment of fees and rewarding content creators will be a top priority. To finance its cost of building metaverse-based educational content and platform, the company has committed to invest the US $100 million, out of which the majority will be funded through its upcoming Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) on Gate.io exchange.
UNGC token is already trading on Pancakeswap and has plans to list on Gate.io and Binance in the coming quarters. The market cap of UnfoldU is currently under US $500 million, which is bound to grow leaps and bounds. UnfoldU Group is also active in philanthropy, where it has committed to giveaway educational courses worth US $1 billion through UnfoldU Foundation.
“We are building a platform similar to YouTube but committed to education. Anybody in the world right skillset can come online and create content. Our moderators will ensure that the quality of content is up to the mark. Metaverse is the beginning of the new era of the internet. The world achieved in three decades through the internet will now be reduced to a decade. The end user is now technically sound and desires to adopt new things,” said Harish Bajaj, Chairman of UnfoldU Group.
