This past year, Mahindra Lifespaces’ revenue grew by 6% and outpaced the BSE Realty index. Even so, a tough market calls for innovation and that’s what Arjundas has attempted by raising funds to fuel growth. The company raised Rs 500 crore through listed non-convertible debentures and lowered risk by bringing in private equity through a joint venture in July with Standard Chartered. This will enable the alliance to invest up to Rs 1,000 crore in residential projects. Late last year, Arjundas was appointed chairperson of the Mahindra Group’s Diversity Council with a mandate to drive diversity and inclusion in the group.
