Indian chicken is going strong in Brazil, Vietnam, and Bangladesh, thanks to Desai taking the Venky’s poultry business global. Her more ambitious move, however, was to buy Blackburn Rovers, one of only four clubs to have won the English Premier League since 1992. The $36.8 million deal hasn’t been entirely welcomed by Blackburn fans, but Desai and her team seem keen on making it work. The league is among the most vaunted of international sporting platforms.
