She heads one of the largest market infrastructure institutions ($3.5 billion) in the world—NSE. With market access to more than 170 million people, NSE continues to take its job of spreading knowledge seriously; it holds seminars, certification programmes, and courses across the country, especially in smaller towns. Under Ramkrishna, NSE set up the first ETF (exchangetraded fund) for central public sector enterprises in March. This allowed the government to disinvest Rs 3,000 crore worth of shares in 10 public sector companies with minimal impact on market prices. NSE’s top line, meanwhile, grew by 13% to Rs 1,900 crore, and bottom line by 16% to Rs 1,019 crore over the past year.
