Morparia doesn’t just run J.P. Morgan in India, she’s also part of the bank’s Asia Pacific executive committee. Among notable developments last year, J.P. Morgan completed the integration of its corporate and investment banking divisions within six months to provide seamless service to clients. Funds under management for the asset management business rose almost 300%. The bank also advised clients on six M&A transactions, led the largest qualified institutional placement or QIP (Axis Bank), the largest institutional placement programme (DLF), and the largest private-sector IPO since 2008 (Bharti Infratel). Morparia continues to be a sought-after board hand, with seats on the boards of Bennett Coleman & Co., Philip Morris International, Dr. Reddy’s, CMC, and the Bharti Foundation.
