The boutique bank is digging its heels in deeper as the pace of mergers and acquisitions picks up in India. Moelis was involved in deals featuring, among others, Jaiprakash Associates, GMR Infrastructure, Strides Shasun, and Intas Pharmaceuticals. Girotra had earlier told a newspaper that Moelis India closed deals worth $60 billion last year, half of it domestic and the rest inbound or outbound. Outside the firm, Girotra serves on the boards of Ashok Leyland, Mindtree, and Jio Payments Bank.
