Nisaba Godrej, 

She lives in Planet Godrej in more ways than one. It’s her address, of course, but it’s also the fact that she uses Godrej soaps, household insecticides, and its hair-care products. Oh, and she shares the name as well. But the name is not the reason she’s heading the jewel in the Godrej group’s crown. She has demonstrated her ability in many ways in the decade or so that she’s been part of the management. Godrej has been part and parcel of the dozen-plus acquisitions, new product launches, bets on car freshener, and new formats for existing products. She’s also been instrumental in ramping up executive appointments across the board especially with reference to the company’s operations in Africa where she made multiple acquisitions in the past. She’s on the road for more than a week in a month, and then spends four to five days on group level strategy and related meetings, human resources, and philanthropy. She has also initiated something they call "deep dive", a couple of days spent with top management to wrap up pending discussions and avoid longwinded meetings. The rest of her time is spent on growth strategy and expansion and consolidation plans for the $10 billion company she heads.
