The sugar baroness’ is how most people describe Pathy. She took over the reins of the Rs 50 crore business after her father’s sudden death in 1990 and, through her nonconformist ways, transformed it into a Rs 1,000 crore powerhouse. Today, her company has interests in white crystal sugar, alcohol, power generation , and organic fertilisers.
