RITU GANGRADE Arora, the Asia-Pacific CEO and chief investment officer (CIO) at Allianz Investment Management began her career as a financial analyst for personal care products at Marico Industries in late 90s. By January 2008, she had taken charge as CIO at Canara HSBC OBC Life Insurance India. Today, Ritu leads the Asia hub of Allianz SE with 20 operating entities in 11 countries, including India, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, and Sri-Lanka.
Allianz SE is one of the largest asset management and insurance firms in the world with operations in 70 countries, 125 million private and corporate customers, and over $2.4 trillion in asset under management (AUM) as of December 2023. Led by Ritu, Allianz Investment Management Asia AUM has scaled up from $32 billion in 2017 to $50 billion in 2023. In the past year, Allianz hit new milestones in India. While re-insurance business grew multi-fold, backed by new tie-ups, particularly in the property & casualty space, Allianz Partners received a license to operate in GIFT City. India is the fourth-largest employer within the Allianz Group.
