Bhartia continues her reign as media baroness. Despite growth in print media advertising slowing to 7.6% during the year compared with 11% last year, HT Media managed to report higher revenue and profit (growth of 3% and 1%, respectively). The group’s flagship newspaper, Hindustan Times, also managed to report a 13% increase in circulation revenue, though that was mainly on account of an increase in the cover price. In April 2013, Mint, the business daily from the group launched Mint Asia, its weekly edition in Singapore. Continuing the group’s thrust on education, HT Media started a new business of offline coaching and tutorials across six centres. It bought out a 33% stake in HT Learning from its joint venture partner to consolidate position in the education business. HT Media also expanded the print capacity at its Greater Noida plant, which is likely to be completed in FY14.
