Late last year, Vandana Luthra Curls and Curves completed its first international acquisition by buying a majority stake in Malaysian player Wyann International, which runs a chain of 22 slimming and beauty service outlets across Malaysia. That’s boosted turnover by 26% and taken profit after tax to 40%. In addition, Luthra has also taken her VLCC Natural Sciences range to Saudi Arabia. The company already has a presence in 16 countries. Back home, reports claim VLCC is being roped in by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, which is in the process of revamping courses at the government- run Industrial Training Institutes. Word is that VLCC will help to develop and run the beautician-training course at the ITIs.
