They include the UTV-Walt Disney deal, the Vedanta-Cairn deal, the Axis Bank-Enam Securities transaction, the Vodafone-Essar deal, and the Reliance Industries-BP deal—adding up to almost $19 billion. So, is there ever a concern about conflicts of interest in continuously representing most of India Inc.’s key players? “At the end of the day, the client has to trust your judgment, as you devote your energies to them,” Mody says.
