There were several setbacks, but it is the taste of failure that makes one's life worthwhile and memorable. The position of abundance that I have created for myself today after struggling is through a simple realization that ‘I’m worth more than this.”
Unfolding his Career Fields
Pratik dropped out of engineering to pursue his childhood passion for dancing. For two years he spent hours on the dance floor practicing, and reached Kenya with a dance crew. He ended up opening two dance studios in Bangalore with fellow friends. He just began settling with his dream life, making his parents comfortable after a long journey of having left the secure path of graduation when another roadblock came his way. Being cheated on by his partners in the business he decided to shift to Pune and rebuild his career from scratch.
Pratik began working as a salesperson, getting acquainted with human psychology and persuasion techniques in an ethical way. He worked with a few big companies such as Magic Holidays, Club Mahindra, Dominos, Subway, WNS, Vodafone, XDBS, and Tech Mahindra, while learning digital marketing which was already taking over the world then. Despite landing a job as a digital marketing manager with a monthly salary of INR 80,000, he realized that he is worth much more and decided to quit his job to start his own business.
“Venturing out into an unknown world of business with no family guidance or backup is tough. Every day was a new struggle, I had to see the disappointed look on my parents' faces every day and it killed me from inside. They were confused and deeply in pain with my life choices. I ended up doing odd jobs as a pizza delivery guy and also as a sweeper at Subway to meet all ends. When I reflect on these times, they bring up chills in my spine. By now I had lost 8.7 lacs and had nothing with me except hope”, tells Pratik, talking about his days of struggle.
He worked dedicatedly for two years and finally managed to run the company smoothly with premium clients such as Mercedes Benz, Godrej, Lodha Group, Peter England, Super Sox, JW Marriott, and a few other international brands. With ‘PsychogyiInternationalTM’, he now focuses on strategy and planning based on neuroscience and psychology for businesses.
