Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has charted a roadmap to position the oil-to-telecom conglomerate among the world’s top 10 business conglomerates. Addressing employees on Reliance Family Day - the birthday of the Group's founder Dhirubhai Ambani, he said today that Reliance Industries will never be complacent and will remain true to its motto – “Growth is Life”.

“We are known for disrupting the market through constant innovation and reinvention. We have shown the courage to set the bar high, and the ability to jump even higher to create new records. This is how Reliance has achieved perennial growth. And that is how we have remained true to our motto – Growth is Life,” the RIL chairman says.

“When all our businesses grow exponentially, we can contribute more to India’s inclusive prosperity, and make the world a better place,” Ambani says.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) celebrated Reliance Family Day on December 28, 2023, marking the 91st birth anniversary of RIL’s founder chairman Dhirubhai Ambani.

In an interaction with all Reliance employees on this occasion, Ambani honoured his late father’s legacy saying how the Reliance family has always remained Dhirubhai’s Family in spite of immense growth with passage of time. “We will always cherish his timeless Family Values. These are — Integrity, Excellence, Empathy, the spirit of Cooperation, and the commitment to make Every Tomorrow Better Than Every Today for one and all. These values are encapsulated in Reliance’s WE CARE philosophy,” he added.

He told Reliance employees to focus on three important things - valuing customers, winning community trust, and enriching competencies and capabilities. “Always provide extreme value to customers and unfailingly exceed their expectations; all the company’s actions must win community trust; and continuously enrich competencies and capabilities at every level for enhancing customer love and community trust,” he says.

As the New Year beckons, Ambani urges the Reliance Family to consolidate the group’s place among global leaders in digital data platforms and AI adoption as Reliance reinvents itself to become a unique new-age technology company across all its growth engines. “In the Era of Digital Platforms, data has become a new Factor of Production along with Talent and Money. We need to be at forefront of using data, with AI as an enabler for achieving a quantum jump in productivity and efficiency,” he said.

He told his employees to complete AI transformation across all businesses in 2024, and emerge a pioneer to develop AI to solve India’s urgent national priorities in education, healthcare, agriculture and employment generation.

He also underlined the importance of build the talent, skillsets and competencies, and to expand and deepen the talent pool to be amongst the best in the world. “Investment in talent brings higher returns than investment in machines,” he added.

Ambani also spoke about the most important tenet of Reliance’s Institutional Culture, which is to work with the ownership mindset. He advised young leaders to be bold, courageous and adventurous in pursuing their present and future goals, and in doing so, always support one another. “For what we can achieve together is always immensely greater than what one can achieve individually and in isolation,” he says.

“We must keep Reliance forever young, by ensuring that the average age of all our talented teams remains in the ’30s,” says Mukesh Ambani while reiterating his vision that the generation of Akash, Isha and Anant will achieve much more in life and bring more achievements to Reliance than what his generation achieved.

Ambani says Reliance will never stop dreaming, and will never stop believing in those dreams, and will never stop chasing them with positivity, discipline, resolve, confidence, hard work and mutual support. “Let us together build on our fine tradition of making Reliance a happy family, a caring family, and a super-creative family. 2023 was a great year for India, and for Reliance. 2024 will be even better,” he says.

RIL is currently ranked at number 88 in Fortune Global 500 list, gaining 16 places in the last one year from number 104 in 2022. In the September quarter of FY24, RIL posted consolidated revenue of ₹2.35 lakh crore, while its net profit was at ₹17,394 crore.
