She’s an art collectorwho started buying even before she was making “real money”, but her real ambition is to create an Indian company that not only makes bearings for international companies but can also work with them on designing engineering systems. Last year, NRB co-designed friction systems for dual clutch transmissions used in the Ford Fiesta globally. It also makes the bearings used in Volvo’s trucks. Audi recently chose NRB to manufacture highend components for its balancer shafts in its latest generation of vehicles. Exports have grown 74% in the past year, and overall revenue 16% to Rs 548 crore.
