MG Motor launches Next-Gen Hector at Auto Expo 2023: Price starts at ₹14.72 lakh

MG Motor India on Wednesday launched the Next-Gen Hector at the Auto Expo 2023. The next generation MG Hector's price starts from ₹14.72 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Next-Gen MG Hector is available in five variants -- Style, Smart, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro & Savvy Pro. The SUV comes in five, six, and seven-seater configurations.

The new Hector comes with an argyle-inspired diamond mesh grille, a 35.56 cm (14-inch) HD portrait infotainment system, digital Bluetooth key with key-sharing function, traffic jam assist feature, auto turn indicators, and i-SMART technology with over 75 connected car features. 

The Next-Gen Hector also has other key safety features such as 6 airbags, a 360-degree HD camera, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Assist Control (HAC), all four-wheel disc brakes, a 3-point seat belt for all seats, electric parking brake (EPB), and front parking sensors.

"The mesmerising interiors of the new SUV are available in a dual-tone argil brown and black theme with a wooden finish. The flagship SUV is available in 5, 6, and 7-seater configurations, and offers intelligently designed seating options, and ample space. The 6-seater SUV seats come with a captain configuration while the 7-seater vehicle is offered with bench seats," the company says in a statement. 

The 5-seater MG Hector in style, smart, smart pro and sharp pro variants with 1.5L turbo petrol MT powertrain are available at a starting price of ₹14.72 lakh, ₹16.79 lakh, ₹17.98 lakh and ₹19.44 lakh, respectively. The price range for 5-seater hector with 1.5L Turbo petrol CVT in smart, sharp pro and savvy pro variants are available at a starting price of ₹17.98 lakhs, ₹20.77 lakh, and ₹21.72 lakh. The 5-seater Hector with 2.0L Diesel MT power train in smart, smart pro and sharp pro variants are available at a starting price of ₹19.05 lakh, ₹20.09 lakh and ₹21.50 lakh, respectively.

The 6-seater Hector Plus with 1.5L Turbo petrol MT in the Sharp Pro variant is available at a starting price of ₹20.14 lakh, whereas the 6-seater configuration with 1.5L Turbo Petrol CVT in Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro variants are available at the starting price of ₹21.47 lakh and ₹22.42 lakh, respectively. The 6-Seater Hector Plus with 2.0L Diesel MT power train in smart pro and sharp pro variants are available at the starting prices of ₹20.79 lakh, and ₹22.20 lakh, respectively. 

The 7-seater Hector Plus with 1.5L Turbo Petrol MT in smart and sharp pro variants are available at a starting price of ₹17.49 lakh and ₹20.14 lakh respectively. Its sharp pro and savvy pro variants with 1.5L Turbo Petrol CVT powertrain are available at a starting price of ₹21.47 lakh and ₹22.42 lakh, respectively, whereas the 7-seater configuration with 2.0L Diesel MT powertrain in smart and sharp pro variants are available at a starting price of ₹19.75 lakh and ₹22.20 lakh, respectively.

The company also unveiled the MG4, a pure-electric hatchback EV, and the MG EHS, a plug-in hybrid SUV today. 

"The MG4 EV hatchback is laden with spacious interiors, ensures driving convenience through its five different charging options including the 12V portable charger, both AC and DC charging, etc. The MG EHS Plug-in Hybrid has an electric motor, a battery pack and a powerful petrol engine that work seamlessly together for optimum efficiency, power and range. The hybrid delivers a combined power output of 258ps which helps it achieve a speed of 100km/h in just 6.9 seconds," the company says.
