IPL auction 2025: All you need to know about date, time, venue of mega cricket auction

The highly anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction is scheduled to take place at the Abady Al-Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The event will commence at 3:30PM IST on November 24 and 25, running until 5 PM IST before a 45-minute lunch break, and then resuming at 5:45 PM IST, and continuing until 10:30 PM IST. Viewers in India can watch the auction live on Star Sports Network or stream it online via Jio Cinema app.

A total of 577 players, including 210 overseas and 367 Indian cricketers, are going to be auctioned in the event. Initially, 1,574 players had registered for the mega auction, but it was later narrowed down. Among the franchises, Punjab Kings, who last reached the IPL playoffs in 2014, hold the largest purse of ₹110.5 crore, while Rajasthan Royals hold the smallest budget of ₹41 crore.

Kolkata Knight Riders, the defending champions, and Rajasthan Royals do not have a right to match (RTM) card, as both franchises retained six players before the auction. The RTM option is available to all of the eight remaining franchises. Mumbai Indians can only use their RTM option for an uncapped player, as they already retained five capped players. Sunrisers Hyderabad, last season’s runner-up enter the auction with a budget of ₹45 crore.
