ABB India direct beneficiary of railway, metro upgrade: Sanjeev Sharma

ABB India has said the government’s focus on public mobility projects, such as expanding metro trains and roping in new technology in the railways, is a game changer for the country as well as the companies participating in the initiative. As India is starting to get sophisticated in the production of locomotives and manufacturing train sets indigenously, ABB India is set to benefit as a lot of technology gets deployed from the ABB, the company believes. “We are the direct beneficiary of that change. Similarly, the metro is expanding in a number of cities. There again more and more train sets are being ordered by the locals as well as the global players who are playing locally. This is a big positive for ABB in this area,” said Sanjeev Sharma, country head and MD, ABB India, who made it to the Fortune India Best CEO list this year.
