Stressing that infrastructure development is very crucial for achieving the dream of $5 trillion economy, Transport minister Nitin Gadkari today said that water, power, transport and communication are the key pillars of investment.
Addressing a breakaway session on PM Gati Shakti at the Civil Services day 2022 on Wednesday, Gadkari said, "PM Gati Shakti is very important to make India a $5 trillion economy. It is a dream of the Prime Minister. Water, power, transport and communication are the four important areas. Developing these will bring more investment in industry and agriculture, which will lead to higher growth, jobs and higher per capita income in the country."
In his address, Gadkari also told the participants that the PM has pointed out that all the departments are working in silos and the most important thing that is needed is coordination, co-operation and communication among the departments. Gadkari also pointed out that for effective infrastructure development, new technologies need to be adopted to reduce the cost without compromising on the quality.
