People talked about Garibi Hatao; BJP reached last mile via inclusion: FM
Taking a dig at the age-old slogan of the Congress party on poverty alleviation – Garibi hatao – finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday said one will have to do it for the next fifty – sixty years, if poverty continues. Stressing on the fact that the spirit of Seva (Service) and inclusion is the key theme dominating the nine years of Modi government, Sitharaman said the Modi government has empowered people through the agenda of inclusion and has worked on each and every factor behind poverty.
“If I have to call it anything, I would call it nine years of Seva, which got highlighted at the time of Covid,” Sitharaman said addressing the BJP workers in Udupi on nine years of Modi government. Next is inclusion. Get the poor to have credit facilities, medical facilities like Ayushman Bharat. More and more poor now have bank accounts and can access bank loans. People have been talking about Garibi Hatao, but BJP has reached the last mile,” she added.
