FROM the time she joined SAP Labs’ Bangalore office as a software developer 25 years ago, Sindhu Gangadharan has been steadily climbing up the ranks. In the interim, she spent 18 years at SAP headquarters in Germany before returning to head the India office. This year, she has a new role—head of global Custom Innovation Services—where she reports to the executive board. This complements her role at SAP Labs India as much of the work for customers around AI is being done in the country. “We are taking innovations from India to global customers,” says Gangadharan. SAP Labs India, which has 15,000 employees, the largest at any location worldwide, is setting up its second campus in Bangalore. Its sustainability initiative entails creating its next water positive, carbon neutral and net zero campus in Devanahalli in Q2 of 2025. “Our products help businesses of all sizes become sustainable,” says Gangadharan.
