Under Ruparel’s guidance, the Indian Angel Network (IAN), the country’s largest angel investor group, invested in 16 startups over the past year, the highest number of investments by an early-stage investor. IAN’s maiden fund raised ₹228 crore, nearly 65% of the target corpus. The fund has already started making investments in the range of ₹25 lakh to ₹50 crore. IAN also saw highly profitable exits from five of its portfolio firms. Over the past decade, IAN has invested in 130 companies, registering a high internal rate of return of 32%.
