Union minister of commerce and industry argued that a $12 billion fund for research in India should not be equated with the same amount a company will invest in innovation in the US or Europe.
He noted that the Startup20 Group had been established under India's G20 Presidency for the first time, as part of India's special focus on innovation.
India has raised concerns about ignoring key issues such as temporary waiver of intellectual property rights, fisheries subsidies, and food grains, in the draft agreements.
