Hingorani has led IL&FS Investment Managers (IIML), an infrastructurefocussed PE fund, to impressive returns amid global economic uncertainty and a depressed real estate market. She says Brexit and guesswork over the Federal Reserve’s plans sharply affected fundraising since most of IIML’s clients are American and European. She focussed on expanding IIML’s reach in West Asia and Africa. Although total revenue and profit fell slightly in the last financial year, Hingorani rallied business under a ‘Go East’ policy, addressing investors in Japan, Korea, and Australia—markets that IIML said were relatively untouched.
