The market is gearing up for NSE's upcoming IPO, which means Ramkrishna has been busy preparing for the listing this year. Among the people handpicked by former IDBI chairman S.S. Nadkarni to set up the exchange in 1993, she has ensured NSE remains the market leader, with a vice-like grip on two equity segments, controlling 85% in cash and 99% in futures and options. It also has a 70% share of bond market trading. Last year, the exchange played a key role in the rollout of sovereign gold bonds and emerged as the second-largest receiving office (after State Bank of India) for the instrument.
