Frenny Bawa,
Ex-MD, RIM-Indiaage: 51
With five product launches in four months, Bawa has had a busy year. She says that the wide product range has strengthened BlackBerry’s position in India and as a result it has witnessed higher growth than the average 110% in the Indian smartphone market. The introduction of the entry-level Curve, for example, priced below Rs 10,000, has helped the company gain substantial ground over more expensive Apple and Android devices. At the current rate of growth, the business is likely to be worth over $400 million by 2012. At the time of going to press, Bawa had just left RIM.
